Cucina is committed to guiding our clients through the process in a way that is easy and straightforward. Here is our step-by-step approach:
Step 1
We begin with a phone conversation to ask about timing, budget and scope expectations. We offer you an appointment for an In-Home consultation. 2 hours ($400)
Step 2
While we are in your home we discuss how YOU cook and what your current kitchen is lacking in order to be the most functional work space. We teach you how to best shop for appliances given your preferences. We give you current ball park remodeling costs for appliances, finished materials (all the pretty stuff) and labor, which is a start for a comprehensive estimate. We bring samples of cabinet colors, door styles and countertop material to see in your home.
Step 3
Design begins with our measure appointment which is 1 hour long. Often folks opt to fast track into our process and just have us measure while we are at the initial consult. The fee for this service is $2,000.
Step 4
You learn the costs and see the functionality of your new kitchen. We present you with a floor plan, elevations, lighting plan, and realistic estimate, less the contractor’s labor. It is your choice to proceed independently or continue to work with us for the remainder of the process. The full plan purchase is $2,500.
Step 5
One of our coveted contractors will provide a labor bid for your review. We’ll continue to introduce you to professional sub-contractors, suppliers, and experts to make your vision a reality. In order to provide a successful experience, we only work with a contractor in our network.
When you choose to accept our design agreement and project contract, we require a 50% deposit, then we continue the process as follows:
Step 6
We create working documents for permits. We also create construction notes for contractors with timelines, and refine the plan as needed.
Step 7
Incremental choices. In manageable steps, we will assist you with choosing cabinets, fixtures, hardware, counters, and other finishes from our quality product lines that compliment your design, home, and taste. Next, orders are placed, arrival dates are specified, and construction begins. We manage your project and ensure a smooth process by being there every step of the way. We interface with the contractor weekly or daily when necessary.
